Brewing Up Some High-Tech Coffee

Like many professionals, I don’t (more truthfully, can’t) start my morning until I’ve had my first cup of coffee. It literally dictates the type of day I’m going to have; focused and alert versus zombie-like interactions.

I’ve never been a fan of brewing my own cup. I don’t know whether it’s the clutter of yet another appliance on the kitchen counter, the fact that I can never consistently make a decent cup, or that I’m just too lethargic in the A.M. If I had to guess, it’s probably a combination of all three.

What if I told you a Denmark company called Scanomat was able to solve those problems with the development of their TopBrewer, a coffee-producing faucet controlled by your iPhone or iPad?

The elegant swan-like faucet is all that you see on the counter. A few convenient swipes on your iOS device, and in less than a minute you have a full cup waiting for you. All can be done from the comfort of your bed if need be. And what if coffee isn’t your cup of tea [pun intended] or you decide to be daring and change it up? Don’t fret, the TopBrewer can also churn out expressos, macchiatos, cappuccinos, lattes, hot chocolate – virtually any liquid you’re willing to stock.

TopBrewers roll off the assemblies lines this month. A price has not been disclosed, but can you put a price on a perfect cup of home-brewed coffee? Probably. What would you pay?
